Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
popular social media, Twitter released a new feature that allows users to change who can reply to a tweet or tweet, even after the tweet has been posted.
This feature was launched to respond to potentially attention-grabbing tweets warganet, but users want to avoid that potential for privacy reasons.
This update builds on Twitter’s launch of a feature last summer, allowing users to set who can reply to tweets.
You can organize it by three categories, replyable to everyone, only people you follow or only people you choose.
Quoted Tech Crunch, the company says the feature could help some people feel more secure when using the social media.
The chat feature update will reportedly be available globally on iOS, Android, and web versions, according to reports CNET.
Previously, Twitter had created a new feature to prevent conversations that could potentially lead to harassment. This feature will allow users to prevent mentions from other accounts without the block or mute button.
Twitter said the unmention feature was still an early concept. The company hopes the feature will give Twitter users the ability to ‘unmention’ and control who can tag them in future tweets.
The feature is said to be similar to the untagging feature on Facebook. The unmention feature will basically prevent people from mentioning the user in a tweet and prevent the user from being flagged in future replies.
