(dpa) The Kremlin has emphatically refused to recognize same-sex marriages. According to the Russian Constitution, this is not permitted, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov of the Interfax agency on Wednesday. President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people are clearly against it. “No, there is no need to find a compromise here,” he said. The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg had previously condemned Russia for not allowing official recognition for same-sex couples.
