To debate what a crossover is and is not and whether it is Nissan Qashqai really the first car of the given car category, I will not go with you. But the truth is that it is one of the first crossovers, which since the arrival of the first generation in 2007 has managed not only to successfully establish itself on the European market, but even to develop into the most popular goods in the category.

The welcome of the successor is all the more important for the Japanese carmaker. Especially today, when competition in the form of medium-sized SUVs in European markets has grown rapidly. The third generation of Qashqai introduced itself in February this year and has already managed to visit the Czech Republic, where we were able to see it for the first time during the carmaker’s official event in Prague on the embankment.

This time we went to Warsaw to get behind the wheel of the news for the first time around the Polish capital. And we definitely don’t get bored during test drives. We have a total of three different versions. All have a supercharged 1.3-liter petrol engine under the hood and mild-hybrid technology (full-hybrid will not arrive until 2022). However, we can try a weaker 103kW version with a six-level manual and a stronger 116kW version with both the manual and the Xtronic automatic machine. In all cases, only the front wheels are driven, we also have to wait for the ATV.
