This Monday, four members of the Young Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, forming a string quartet, gave a short concert dedicated to the hospital workers and patients who visited us at that time.
Young musicians, under the direction of the JOSB conductor, Carlos Checa, performed pieces by various European composers from classicism to the 20th century.
The “synergistic” small format concert cycle has the support of the Girona Provincial Council, to bring music to hospitals and prisons, with the intention of claiming the transformative power of music, after a year and a half that it is recognized as very hard on workers in our field.
The Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2015 and was performed for the first time in the Foyer du Gran Teatre Liceu. Since then he has given concerts on the main stages of Catalonia, highlighting in particular his stable season in Palau de la Música Catalana.
This orchestra welcomes professional musicians and students from various higher conservatories, becoming a magnificent professionalization project for young talents.
