On Friday, July 9, the audiovisual concert performance “Shore on the Shore” experienced its premiere on Saulkrasti beach, in which the Saulkrasti choir “Anima” conducted by Laura Leontjeva performed the newly created choral music opus by Kristaps Krievkalns and Kārlis Kazakas.

According to “Delfi”, the leader of the choir “Anima”, the concert by the sea was attended by more than 700 enjoyers of the event. “The organizers of the event were pleasantly surprised by the listeners’ desire to experience this choral music event in person, its tickets were sold out several days before the concert,” says Laura Leontjeva.
“We are grateful and satisfied that the vision of the concert evening was fulfilled in the most charming form. The artists’ synergy with the listener and nature allowed us to experience this event exactly as we had dreamed it. Visitors to the outdoor concert were invited to bring their own rugs and beach chairs to watch the sunset in their favorite mood. The spectators actively used the opportunities provided by the nature concert hall and also watched the concert from their boats and SUP boards.
In order to convey the message “Shore on the Shore” to a wider audience, a concert film is being created, which will feature footage from the concert, as well as artistic intermediates, highlighting each part of the choral music cycle as a special story. The concert film is planned to be premiered in the autumn of 2021.
The choral music cycle “Excited on the Shore” is an opus dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Saulkrasti choir “Anima”, where music, movement and art meet in one place. Composer Kristaps Krievkalns presents himself in the original composition of choral music, in turn, the author of the words Kārlis Kazāks, as he himself admits, the poetry cycle creates for the first time. “Shore on the shore” visual identity is the original work of the artist Marek Gureck, which can be seen in the performers’ stage costumes, creating a living canvas painting, but choreographer Inga Krasovska reveals the diversity of images and characters painted by the artist Iluta Reinber. Sound director Mārtiņš Porter and lighting artist Pāvels Armanis played an important role in the audiovisual event “Excited on the Shore”.
