UEFA excludes Cristiano Ronaldo

MADRID.

Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of the ideal eleven of the last Euro 2020, where the Italians dominated, with the contribution of five players, announced the UEFA.

The complete team consists of the goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy); defenders Kyle Walker (England), Leonardo Bonucci (Italy), Harry Maguire (England) and Leonardo Spinazzola (Italy); midfielders Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Denmark), Jorginho (Italy) and Pedri (Spain); and forwards Federico Chiesa (Italy), Romelu Lukaku (Belgium) and Raheem Sterling (England).

This ideal line-up was determined by UEFA’s team of technical observers, consisting of Packie Bonner, Esteban Cambiasso, Fabio Capello, Cosmin Contra, Corinne Diacre, Jean-François Domergue, Dusan Fitzel, Steffen Freund, Frans Hoek, Aitor Karanka, Robbie Keane, Ginés Meléndez, David Moyes, Mixu Paatelainen, Peter Rudbaek and Willi Ruttensteiner.

Cristiano Ronaldo finished as the top scorer of the Eurocup, tied with five goals with the Czech Patrik Schick.

The Portuguese equaled, at 36, the record of goals with a selection (109) of the Iranian Ali Daei in this European Championship.

Italy, the new European champion, its top scorers were Federico Chiesa, Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne, Manuel Locateli and Matteo Pessina, all with two goals.
