After the authorities opened up for holidays abroad, more people have chosen to turn their noses towards southern areas to enjoy lazy days and high temperatures.
Now the meteorologist thinks that you do not need to travel abroad at all to feel the heat on your body.
Bad start
StormGeo’s meteorologist on duty, Lillian Bergheim, explains that you have to wait a couple of days before you reach the really high temperatures.
– For southern Norway, there will be a precipitation field tomorrow with rain and rain showers. It will be quite powerful, and there is also the possibility of thunder.
She says, however, that there is a surprising weather winner tomorrow.
– In general, the coastal area in Western Norway and Central Norway escapes the worst rain showers tomorrow, Bergheim says.
– A lot of gray weather
Northern Norway is not as lucky, and will have to cover itself with rain most of the day tomorrow.
– The further up in the country you move, the more rain. Nordland has some stay-at-home weather, while Troms and Finnmark start the day with rain and more rain showers are expected during the day, says the meteorologist.
She explains that over the week it will not get much better in the north either.
– From Thursday and into the weekend, it will continue with periods of quite rough weather in the north of the country. It will be a lot of gray weather with rain and rain showers, she explains to TV 2.
Southern temperatures
The meteorologist, on the other hand, has good news for those in the east and south of the country towards the end of the week.
– A high pressure will lie over the UK with its back to southern Norway, which will lead to high temperatures throughout this week, she says and continues:
– Eastern Norway and southern Norway actually get a lot of nice and warm weather from Thursday on and through the weekend. It will be very sunny and temperatures up to 30 degrees in many places.
Compared to many of popular travel destinations such as Greece, Italy and France, Norway can therefore compete with proper southern temperatures.
Holds
From next week, the weather is expected to remain relatively stable.
– The high pressure will remain fairly the same, and it may look like it will still be warm and nice weather in the south of the country. In the north it will be more shaky, says the meteorologist.
As Western Norway and Central Norway are at the divide between fine weather and rough weather, the meteorologist says that it will vary.
– It is a bit difficult to see how it will be in Western Norway, but it may look like there will be changing weather there next week as well.
She explains that it may therefore be a good idea to go on a Norwegian holiday to the south if you want sun and good weather next week.
– It clearly looks like Southern and Eastern Norway will be the so-called weather winner this week, says the meteorologist.
