M1X MacBook Pro takes big step compared to its predecessor

Apple continues with the new M1X MacBook Pro, which we can expect later this year, a big step in the field of Apple Silicon. Where the M1-Macs now have to do with a maximum of 16GB of RAM, that can easily be doubled with the following models.

The rumor comes from AppleTrack’s Luke Miani. According to him, 16GB of RAM is no longer the maximum achievable, but with the M1X Macs it is the minimum RAM that can be worked with. Ultimately, there is the option to put 32GB in the computer, but that’s about it.

M1X MacBook Pro met 32GB RAM

Despite the fact that the M1X MacBook Pro is an improvement over the previous Apple Silicon model, you as a consumer have less choice. For example, Miani emphasizes the fact that the 16-inch Intel model also offered a 64GB variant. But is the difference really as great as is now outlined?

Current M1 macs have already shown that computers with Apple’s own chip chip be a lot faster than the Intel models. It won’t be completely accurate, but personally I always double the RAM on an Apple Silicon Mac. This is also reflected in the users. Power users, for example, have enough of 8GB of RAM with the M1 MacBook Pro, where they first needed at least 16GB.

The chance that the M1X MacBook Pro is even more efficient seems to be high at the moment. In that regard, the 32GB option may seem like a loss compared to the Intel models, but it’s a big gain in practice. We have to take this story with a grain of salt, of course.
