Phone manufacturer OPPO opens new factory in Turkey – IT Pro – News

Phone manufacturer OPPO has opened a new factory near Istanbul. The company wrote this in a press release. 700 employees will work in the factory. The factory covers more than 10,000 square meters and was built in four months.

With the arrival of this factory, OPPO now has ten production facilities worldwide, in addition to factories in China, India and Eastern Europe, so now also in Turkey. OPPO calls the new facility an “important milestone in OPPO’s journey in Europe.” With the factory it hopes to serve the European market even better.

OPPO does not say exactly what will be made in the factory. In addition to smartphones, OPPO also makes wearables and earplugs. It does say that this factory has a surface-mount technology production line, rather than a traditional assembly line. This production line is aimed at smartphones, OPPO explains.

The new production facility is located a few kilometers from OPPO’s regional headquarters in Ataşehir. Although 700 people will be employed at the factory, OPPO says it will create some 10,000 new jobs across the supply chain.
