Atletico Madrid officially announced the transfer Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese. Thus also ended the hunt for the Argentine player.
Rodrigo De Paul is reportedly being targeted by many clubs, including from fellow Serie A and Premier League teams, heading into the transfer market this summer. He performed brilliantly in 2020/2021, scoring nine goals and 10 assists from 36 appearances in Serie A.
The 27-year-old also just helped Argentina win America’s Cup 2021. He scored one goal in three games and performed well in the final against Brazil.
Atletico Madrid announced that Rodrigo De Paul now officially become their player. They paid around 35 million euros and tied the player to a contract until June 2026.
“I am very happy, I will be playing for a team that won LaLiga last season and I know the responsibility that comes with it,” De Paul told the club’s official website.
“This is a big step in my career, even for this moment to happen, right after winning America Cup. I will try to live up to all expectations.”
“I am a football fan and I know Atletico very well because I previously played in Spain. Not to mention all my friends and colleagues who play here,” he added.
At least Inter Milan and Liverpool were linked with Rodrigo De Paul. La Liga itself is not a foreign competition for De Paul because he had strengthened Valencia for two seasons.
