President Emmanuel Macron spoke on Monday evening in an official address to the French. He announced in particular that he was making compulsory vaccination for health professionals, carers and non-carers, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and retirement homes as well as for professionals and volunteers working with the elderly. They have until September 15 to do so under penalty of penalties, including loss of their salary in the event of refusal. This concerns approximately 1.4 million professionals in France.
When we do health personnel, we will have afterwards a stigmatization of each other, but health professionals are in contact with patients, yes, but if these patients were vaccinated, there would be no problems, so we need to vaccinate everyone, Jean-Pierre Door, LR deputy from Loiret
Go further and faster
The deputy Les Républicains du Loiret Jean Pierre Door, interviewed on France Bleu Orléans, is satisfied with this decision but wants us to go further. He notably pleaded for this vaccination to be made compulsory for all and as quickly as possible. in a column published last weekon the site “the daily doctor”.
“It is very good”, comments the deputy, “but the president reminded us, there are 9 or 10 million doses available to our country, if you add these doses to the 28 million who are already vaccinated, we would arrive at more than 50% of collective immunity”. For him, “you have to go fast” but he points a kind of discrimination. “When we do health personnel, we will have afterwards a stigmatization of each other, but health professionals are in contact with patients, yes, but if these patients were vaccinated, there would be no problems , so we have to vaccinate everyone “, he concludes.
Caregivers “will resign”
On the side of caregivers, we are not really reassured. Asked about France Bleu Orléans,Vincent Antier, nursing assistant and CGT delegate at Pithiviers hospital, in the Loiret, it is an aberration. “This announcement just proves that they have no argument to push us to agree to be vaccinated, that’s what makes me jump”, comments the one who is also a mortuary aid at the hospital. “If it becomes mandatory, I will do like everyone else but on the other hand I will send letters”, implying that he intends not to stop there. Vincent Antier also denounces a paradox: to set up a vaccination obligation when there is a lack of slots to receive the injection. “I know colleagues who work, who want to be vaccinated, who have a life next door and who therefore wait and hope to be vaccinated at work but who are still not because they are in line. “
His messaging is also starting to overflow this Monday evening: “If you knew all the messages I received during the speech, there are people who are going to let themselves be resigned”.
The expanded health pass
Emmanuel Macron also decidedexpand the use of the health passto places of culture and leisurefrom July 21. It will then be the turn of bars, restaurants and shopping centers in early August.
