A parcel was brought to the cathedral, in which there was a volume “The Religious Canons of the Church of England Parishioner”. It was accompanied by aan apiska explaining that the owner of the book had recently died.
“The book came back to us because a lady from Wales found it among the belongings of her deceased godmother. The woman’s will asked to return the book to the cathedral,” said the deputy rector of the cathedral. Kit Farrou.
He noted that the late penalty would be enough to replace the roof.
“But I promised the family that there would be no fine: they returned the book, and this is great. After 300 years, our little pearl is back at home,” the priest said.
The book was written in 1688 and republished in 1704, it is going to be displayed in the church.
