The death of the actor, who was born in April 1946 in Michálkovice near Ostrava and died two weeks ago in Čerčany in the Benešov region, was informed about Theater newspaper.
Zdeněk Mucha studied acting at Brno’s JAMU, graduating in the same year when Soviet tanks arrived in Bohemia. He immediately joined the Vítězslav Nezval Theater in Karlovy Vary, where he spent almost 20 years. Since 1987 he has worked at the JK Tyl Theater in Pilsen.
“Since then, he has played dozens of key characters in the domestic and world repertoire – comedic characters, earthy to harsh, ironic and life-oriented and wisdom-oriented,” writes Divadelní noviny.
However, the audience who did not like theater also had the opportunity to get to know Mucha – film and television. He played, for example, a gendarme in the Ballad for a Bandit or a innkeeper in the legendary Primary School. He also appeared in the second Disco Story, The Godfather Story, and most recently in the fairy tale The Watchmaker’s Apprentice two years ago.
TV Nova viewers can also remember it from Detective Specialists or the Surgery in the Rose Garden. Even before the revolution, he also appeared in 30 cases of Major Zeman.
