The board of directors of Cerro Porteño moves behind the scenes so that their fans will be present in the first game against the Fluminense, for the round of 16 of the World Cup liberators. Marcel Rizzo, from the Uol portal, says that, in addition to Cerro, Olimpia, the biggest rival, is also negotiating with the Paraguayan government to have its “hinchada” in the duel with the International by the same competition.

– It’s a sure possibility. [volta de público aos estádios do Paraguai] – said on Monday (12) the Paraguayan Health Minister, Julio Borba, during a vaccination event against Covid-19 in the country’s capital.

The president of Cerro Porteño, Raul Zapag, published on his social networks that the club will race against time to have fans at the La Nueva Olla stadium at 7:15 pm this Tuesday, when the club faces Fluminense.

Paraguay being the first country to release it is no coincidence. Conmebol’s headquarters are in Luque, a city next to Asunción and there is a close relationship between the Paraguayan government and the leadership of the confederation sul-americana.
