Oleiros, A Coruña and Santiago are the only three Galician municipalities in the top 50 in Spain with the highest annual income per inhabitant, according to the data made public today by the National Institute of Statistics. The best located is Oleiros that has an annual income per inhabitant of 16,170 euros and it is in position 21 of all Spain.
The average annual income per capita of A Coruña is 14,106 and it is in position 46. Santiago, with 13,950 euros per inhabitant and year is in 48. No Galician city council is in the top 50 with the lowest income. There are up to four Galician municipalities in the top 15 with the lowest average number of children per woman, including A Coruña in 15th place in Spain. Both in this city and in Ourense and Santiago the average is just over one child.
In addition, the INE offers data by metropolitan areas, beyond municipalities. In this way, the area of A Coruña is the tenth in Spain with the highest income (13.437 euros).
