On Wednesday, ie July 14, the beta version of Youtube Shorts will be launched where users can publish short videos from their mobile phones. Although short films have existed before, but now the so-called Shorts tool is launched with which the user can, among other things, combine videos, record with music and adjust film speed.
It will also be possible to use sounds from other Shorts, which allows users to put a personal touch on other users’ materials. However, filmmakers will have control over their own material and may choose not to make material available for use in other Shorts. More than 250 record companies and publishers will run music available for use in Shorts.
While Shorts is now being introduced in more markets, including the Swedish one, Youtube is also releasing new features, which include adding various forms of text, recording up to a minute with the Shorts camera, adding other clips that are available on the mobile and to use filters.
Youtube Short will be integrated into the existing Youtube interface and allow viewers to mix Shorts creations with regular video sequences. This is also why Youtube has already introduced Shorts in a new place on Youtube’s website even before the Shorts tool itself has been released.
