mobilinanews (Jakarta) – Being able to drive using a manual clutch motor, both sport and duck types, is the dream of many people, especially young people.
Not only men, many women are already riding clutch motorcycles. The character of the manual clutch motor with the automatic clutch is different.
In order to be able to use a manual clutch motor properly, especially for those who just want to learn to ride it, the Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) main dealer PT Lautan Teduh in Lampung provides several guidelines that can be followed.
“Motorcycles are useful vehicles for daily activities and hobbies. For those who want to learn to ride it, we provide a few points as a guide. This time for basic tips on riding a manual clutch motorcycle. Hopefully it can help to enjoy driving it,” said Supriyanto, Main Dealer Promotion Manager for PT Lautan Teduh.
BHere are basic tips for learning to use a manual clutch motor: Get to know the function of the motor device
1. The clutch lever is in the left hand.
2. Clutch aims to disconnect / continue the rotation of the crankshaft to the transmission and then to the wheels.
3. Check the condition of the clutch lever, make sure when pulling it feels smooth and light, this will make it easier when learning to drive.
4. Make sure the clutch lever is not broken/damaged to make learning easier.
5. Make sure the standard clutch lever clearance is as stated in the manual for maximum operation.
6. In manual clutch motors, some of the gear shifts from gear 1 to the maximum gear are pressed forward all the way and some are from gear 1 pressed forward then gear 2 and then to the maximum gear are pushed back/pulled.
7. Make sure all motor equipment is in good condition and perfect (brakes, tires, lights and others).
The first step: without operating the gas and changing gears
1. Turn the engine and gears in neutral.
2. Operate the rear brake (step on the brake pedal) to keep the motor from moving.
3. Pull the clutch lever fully for easier gear shifting and enter gear 1.
4. Release the rear brake and release the clutch lever slowly, if you release too fast it will make the engine die easily.
5. Run the motor without operating the gas (if the condition of the motor is standard/normal), even without gas the motor can run.
6. Pull the clutch when it will stop and apply braking smoothly.
7. Repeat this step until you know the character of the motorcycle well.
Step two: operate the gas and change gear
1. Start operating the gas smoothly and increase the gear to increase speed.
2. Always close the gas first and then pull the clutch when moving gears (increase/decrease).
3. Operate the clutch in three conditions, namely the first time it will run, change gears (increase/decrease) and when it will stop.
4. Avoid pulling the clutch lever when braking, this will make the motor slip because there is no engine brake so it is more difficult to control.
5. When lowering the gear is recommended at a motor rpm that is not high, this will make the displacement smoother.
6. Repeat over and over again so that you get to know the motor character and become proficient
Read the instruction book/manual on the motorcycle to find out more. Always use safety gear in order to protect yourself to the maximum.
It is recommended to study in an empty area, the road is flat and the condition is safe. It is better when learning is always supervised by people who can already drive it. (Van)
