NEW YORK – Amid multiple shootings reported Sunday in a 14-hour span in New York City, two teenagers lost their lives, authorities announced.

As of Sunday afternoon, nine people had been the victims of six separate shootings in four of the city’s five counties, according to reports from the New York City Police. Two of those victims, ages 13 and 19, died from their injuries.

The first reported shooting of the day occurred just minutes after midnight in Queens, near Quencer Road. Police confirmed that a 19-year-old was shot in the left thigh and died at Jamaica Hospital.

On the other hand, almost an hour later in Brooklyn, a triple shooting caused police to start looking for an armed suspect in his 30s. Three men, between the ages of 33 and 58, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the lower limbs when they were in Fulton Avenue around 1:10 am on Sunday.

Victims of Bedford-Stuyvesant they were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

The uniformed officer said that three hours later the third shooting of the day was reported, this time in the Bronx. A man and a woman were shot in the arm in Jerome avenue around 4:00 a.m., according to the New York City Police Department.

Then, almost eight hours later, a 47-year-old man was shot in Harlem around 2:15 p.m. in Frederick Douglass Boulevard Y West 151st Street. Police stated that the victim was hit in the groin and that the alleged gunman fled on foot.

The next victim was in Brooklyn and, according to the Police, he was shot in the leg when he was in Along Avenue Y Amboy Street. Authorities did not confirm the age of the victim.

And at 4:00 pm on Sunday, the city recorded the sixth shooting in the Bronx. Police responded to Angels Cafe on East 187th Street after 3:30 pm, where a 13-year-old boy was pronounced dead.

Police officers have not announced arrests in any of Sunday’s shootings.
