Ilon Mask has booked a seat for a flight on the Branson spacecraft

American billionaire Ilon Mask has reserved a seat for a flight on the spacecraft of British colleague Richard Branson on Sunday, July 11, the British newspaper The Sunday Times reports.

The mask, which owns space company SpaceX, has paid a deposit of $ 10,000 (about 6,400 euros) for a seat on one of Branson’s Virgin Galactic spacecraft flights, which has not yet been set, according to The Sunday Times.

Branson confirmed to the newspaper that Mask had booked a seat on one of the Virgin Galactic flights and added that he could reserve a seat on one of the SpaceX flights.

It has already been reported that a Virgin Galactic flight is planned for Sunday, with which Branson will go into space for the first time.

Virgin Galactic uses a high-altitude plane, and then launches a small spacecraft with people spending a few minutes above the Karman line, the boundary between the Earth’s atmosphere and outer space.

Branson’s intention is to use Space Galactic to offer space travel for a fee. Two more test flights are planned after Branson’s flight, but scheduled commercial flights are scheduled to start next year.

On July 20, another American billionaire – the founder of the Internet trading company “Amazon” Jeff Bezos – is planning to go into space. He, too, will spend only a few minutes in space on his New Shepard spacecraft. Bezos also aims to offer commercial space flights.
