New rebound in the municipal council of Thionville Monday July 5. Bertrand Mertz, unsuccessful candidate in the last municipal elections (26.88% of the vote) who has never sat since his defeat in June 2020, risks exclusion.
The former socialist mayor of Thionville from 2008 to 2014 has made no secret of his intention not to influence the debate, preferring to leave the reins of the left-wing opposition to his running mate, Brigitte Vaisse, while Guy Harau and Manon Pellicori (EELV) have chosen to regain their independence.
It was Lionel Bieder, opposition municipal councilor defending the colors of Thionville renewal, who was the first to set foot in the dish evoking the new regulation voted on a proposal from the mayor, Pierre Cuny, and proposing that it be applied to Bertrand Mertz.
