Stress is known as the disease of the 21st century.
A recent study by a University in Australia shows that constant stress can affect the brain’s immune system so much that it leads to Alzheimer’s symptoms.
Andreea Bocăneală is 25 years old and is an expert in communication. She says worries and stress are part of her daily life.
“I’m the kind of person who consumes and stresses about everything, from exams to situations that occur at work, I often skip meals, I don’t sleep as well as I usually do, I focus a lot on finding a solution for the problem I face “, said Andreea Bocăneală, a stressed person.
Some people are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s than others. And at the moment, there is still no cure for dementia.
Psychiatrist Marcel Găină says that stress is a risk factor for the development of Alzheimer’s disease, but it is not the main one.
“Basically, if we talk about Alzheimer’s disease, first and foremost is the age that predisposes us. In second place is the genetic predisposition. Then the exposure to heavy metals, but in fourth place is the lifestyle and last but not least we are talking about stress “, said Marcel Găină, psychiatrist.
