In its most recent meeting, the municipal council unanimously approved the budget charter for the current year. The budget has a volume of 9.65 million euros.
Königsdorf – The committee set the income and expenditure in the administrative budget at around 6.76 million euros and in the asset budget at around 2.89 euros. The municipality will not take out loans to finance expenditure in the property budget.
Commitment authorizations in the asset budget are not set. The assessment rates for property tax for agricultural and forestry operations and for other properties as well as for trade tax are 310 percent each. The Council set the maximum amount of cash advances for the timely payment of expenses according to the budget at 300,000 euros.
Previously, head of administration Andreas Baumann had explained the largest income and expenditure items of the administrative budget and the related investments for the coming years on the basis of the preliminary report on the budget (we reported). The implementation of all planned measures are divided accordingly in the budget and finance plan. These include the expansion of the school gym with rooms for lunchtime supervision (specified in the draft as 706,000 euros), the building yard renovation (300,000 euros), the second part of the broadband expansion (100,000 euros), the connection of the Schwaighofen district to the collective sewage treatment plant (200,000 euros plus 120,000 Euro allocation to the Zweckverband) as well as the purchase of land at the Schwaighofen elevated reservoir and the renewal of some water pipes (together 400,000 euros). In addition, the community has to renovate some of its bridges and roads for a total of around 140,000 euros. For general property purchases, the Raiffeisenbank warehouse and property development at the rectory, 500,000 euros have been estimated.
The upcoming cost-intensive projects of the Königsdorfer require prioritization, and the local council agreed on this as well. The reserve should “not be completely melted down”, it said in the preliminary report. In it, the finance department and administration had called for caution with additional costly investments in order to “not throw the Königsdorf budget into trouble” in the event of possible negative economic developments – including the possible effects of the pandemic.
As before, the municipal council should focus on the fulfillment of the compulsory tasks of public services, schools, day-care centers, water supply and sewage disposal as well as road construction. If there is still financial leeway, one can invest in the infrastructure for the future.
