She revealed the bad side of modeling
Nobody is shocked any more by the models’ confessions that reveal the dark sides of their industry. For years, there has been a debate about the toxic side of modeling, which for decades has encouraged women to live up to unimaginable figure standards. It often ended with anorexia, bulimia, depression, PTSD and addictions. This was also the case Bridget Malcolm.
The 29-year-old model has walked, among others, on Victoria’s Secret catwalks and has developed her career in the fashion world for many years. Today, she reveals the details of the abuse that destroyed her mentally and physically.
– The pressure from the industry and my agency was so strong that I thought then that I would do anything to lose weight. I was starving myself for 3 days, then I ate 500 calories a day and I was jogging 6km a day and drinking protein drinks instead of eating vegetables and now my digestive system is in a mess. says Malcolm. She shared her story on social media, where she has been honestly talking about the experiences related to the trauma for several weeks.
“I have been sexually harassed many times,” the model reveals. She said she was sexually abused when she was a minor. The agencies primarily wanted it to lose weight – I was told to take cocaine and have lots of sex to lose weight

Bridget also said about her alcohol and drug problem, “I couldn’t meet people without drinking.” I was taking Xanax to make it through the night. And that was all before I was 18.
The model admitted that the years of traumatic experiences ended with post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression, in parallel with eating disorders, anorexia and orthorexia. At the age of 26, she had a nervous breakdown. She says she even had to deal with “fighting suicidal thoughts, which was terrifying.”
Today he shares his story to make others aware. She managed to get help and recovers after years of living in a toxic environment.
– I’ve been sober for over two years. I have been recovering from an eating disorder for four years. I’m happy. I am balanced. I am strong and I feel the best I have ever felt.
