After a positive advice from the Superior Health Council, the Interministerial Conference of Ministers competent for Public Health has given the green light for the vaccination of 12 to 15-year-olds against corona.
–
The Superior Health Council, an independent institution that advises the government, previously gave permission to vaccinate 12 to 15-year-olds in an advisory report. The Council considers a vaccination to be useful in any case for young people with underlying conditions. The cards are different for the others in that age group, because the experts point out that the vaccination offers them little individual benefit.

For a 12 to 15-year-old, the risk of a serious illness, hospitalization or death after a corona infection is very small. However, a vaccination can be useful to further limit the circulation of the virus and to protect vulnerable people. Out of prudence, the council asks not to put any pressure on young people in any way and therefore not to opt for a systematic vaccination campaign, for example by sending everyone an invitation and working with vaccination centres.
