A 32-year-old Amsterdammer who is suspected of having threatened a group of people on a terrace on Bijlmerplein with a machine gun, was arrested on Saturday evening, June 26. That’s what the police report.

The police received a report around 8 p.m. that evening about a customer who allegedly harassed and verbally abused several people in a cafe after a conflict in the case. An employee was even allegedly assaulted.
The suspect left the cafe, but then returned with a firearm. He aimed it at the people on the terrace and threatened to shoot. In the end he didn’t, and in the end agents arrested the man on Flierbosdreef. A sports bag containing a machine gun was found in the back seat of a car.
The suspect was taken to the police station and is still in custody. The police are calling on witnesses to come forward via 0900-8844.
