According to lead researcher Prof. Russell Wiener, he told the BBC that if there were adequate vaccines, certain groups of children could benefit from receiving them.

“My personal opinion is that it would be very prudent to vaccinate a number of groups we have studied that do not have a particularly high risk of death, but we know that their risk of severe course and admission to intensive care, although still low, is more higher than that for the general population, “says Prof. Wiener.

According to him, it is necessary to wait for research done in the United States and Israel on the effects of vaccines on children in real conditions before making a final decision on whether to vaccinate children in the UK.
