The plane, a DHC-2 Turbo Beaver, had eight skydivers on board in addition to the pilot. Not long after it took off from the airport in Örebro, it crashed to the ground for unknown reasons. The aircraft immediately caught fire, the occupants did not stand a chance and did not survive. “This was a very serious accident,” said the Swedish police.
The accident evokes memories of a similar incident in 2019, also in Sweden, when a plane full of skydivers crashed just after take-off, also killing nine people on board.
