Santos sees the sale of Luan Peres as “cut in the meat” and forwards an agreement with Doyen

O Santos sees the sale of Luan Peres to the Olympique de Marseille (FRA) as the “cut in the flesh” warned several times by President Andres Rueda.

In a difficult financial situation, Peixe accepted Olympique’s proposal for the defender and is now close to an agreement with the company Doyen Sports.

An old debt with the investment fund blocks Alvinegro’s accounts. Thus, the idea is to pass on the values of Olympique and put an end to this legal fight.

The agreement has not been signed, but Santos should receive around 4.5 million euros (BRL 28 million) for what it has economic rights (70%). The transaction also includes bonuses for goals achieved by the athlete in France.

The debt with Doyen was 5 million euros (31 million), but Peixe received a fine for not honoring the installments in the José Carlos Peres management and the debt rose to 15 million euros (R$ 93 million). Alvinegro contested this penalty in court and the litigation must be closed for a value close to the initial one.

Santos intends to give an entry to Doyen and split the remainder within Rueda’s mandate, valid until December 2023. The strategy is similar to the agreement with Krasnodar (RUS) by Christian Cueva.

In this scenario, Peixe loses an absolute title holder, however, it ends with the club’s biggest financial problem. After Doyen, there would be “only” the agreement with Barcelona for the non-fulfillment of the priority by Gabriel Barbosa. The debt is approximately 3 million euros (R$18.6 million).

Luan Peres has already said goodbye to the squad and no longer trains at CT Rei Pelé. The defender is waiting for the final details to be announced by Olympique.
