Presenter An Lemmens (40) had to say goodbye to both her father and her sister this year. She writes that in an honest post on Instagram.

“Having lost my dearest sister and father this year, some of my most precious and fulfilling experiences have often been colored with a touch of pain,” she captioned a photo of a foal. “If you’re short on energy, focus it where it’s most needed. It is normal to sometimes fall out of your daily routine in hard times and crisis.”
“But I know I need to be aware of how much I’m dropping, and for how long. I find it difficult to strike a balance. As some song started playing in the car today, the tears came so sudden and overwhelming that I had to pull myself aside to catch my breath and calm down. A little later in the afternoon, I bonded with this one month old foal. With my daughter and my sister’s daughter. That brought so much comfort to be surrounded by people who understand, without having to talk about our grief.”
