Mobile phone users have the wrong feeling that their phone is ringing, but it is about the skills memorized by the human body following the intense use of the mobile phone, writes The Independent in the online edition.
Robert Rosenberger’s research suggests that when a person leaves their mobile phone in their pocket, the device becomes an “integral part” of the user’s body, the situation being similar to eyeglasses, which those who wear them claim to forget about.
The mobile phone can make us wrinkle no matter how young we are
“People then continue to perceive other sensations, such as moving clothes, muscle spasms, as mobile phone vibrations, but it’s just a hallucination,” said Dr. Robert Rosenberger.
In an interview with the BBC, Rosenberger said that a recent study involving students enrolled in a bachelor’s program showed that 90% of those surveyed said they had experienced the phenomenon of illusory vibrations.
According to Robert Rosenberger, the respondents said that they are worried “because of the different technologies used, whether it is text messages or e-mails, because they keep them in a state of nervousness”.
The research was published in the journal Computers in Human Behavior.
