Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — Cigarette issuer PT Gudang Garam Tbk. (GGRM) finally decided to pay dividends again for the performance of the 2020 financial year after being absent last year.
The decision was made at the annual general meeting of shareholders (AGMS) for the 2020 financial year performance which took place on Thursday (8/7/2021).
Reporting from Tempo.co Thursday (8/7/2021), Gudang Garam distributed an annual dividend of IDR 5 trillion to shareholders in the 2020 financial year. Thus, the amount to be distributed to shareholders is IDR 2,600 per share.
Meanwhile, profits that are not distributed will be included in the retained earnings account which will be used to increase the company’s working capital.
Last year, shareholders of the issuer coded GGRM had to be patient because the company decided not to distribute dividends for 2019 performance. The retained earnings were used to increase working capital so that the company did not distribute dividends to company shareholders for the 2019 financial year.
This decision is the first time in recent years that the company has not distributed dividends. Last year, GGRM was also included in the list of issuers who are generous in distributing dividends or known as IDX High Dividend 20.
