Hans Vanwijn is the third signing of Casademont Zaragoza. The Belgian international power forward, 26 years old and 2.06 tall, reinforces the inner game of the Aragonese team and comes from JDA Dijon, French club with which he was runner-up in the League and with which he won the bronze medal in the final eight of the Champions League in September after beating the Aragonese team in the duel for third and fourth place. The Belgian joins the already confirmed additions of Santi Yusta and James McLean.

His incorporation was an open secret, since the same player had said in the middle HLN that his incorporation to the club was safe. «Basket Zaragoza presented me with a good contract. Financially there were even better offers from other clubs in Europe, but the Zaragoza manager absolutely loved me. Is the best option”.

Vanwijn made his debut in the Belgian First Division with Leuven Bears in the 2013-2014 season, before signing for Limburg United, a club where he stayed for the next three seasons, beginning to show good signs of his potential. So much so that, in 2016, and at just 20 years old, he was chosen as the best young man in the competition. Established in the elite, the interior was signed in the summer of 2017 by the Telenet Giants Antwerp, where he registered 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3 assists that he averaged during his first season in Antwerp. In the second, thanks to a large European participation, managed to reach the Final Four of the Basketball Champions League and lifted the Cup of his country, a title that he would revalidate in 2020 signing the best numbers of his career with 12.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

Again with the vitola of best national player, Vanwijn decided in 2020 to undertake the first adventure away from his country by joining the French JDA Dijon. The pandemic allowed the Belgian international to play the final eight of the Baskebtall Champions League in September, croaring in Athens for the first time with Casademont Zaragoza and hanging the bronze medal in the continental competition. His good season has earned him his jump to the Endesa League, thanks to the 11.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists obtained in the domestic competition, and the 10.2 points, 6 rebounds and 1.3 assists that he has accumulated in the Basketball Champions League.

With the addition of Vanwijn, Casademont’s inside game includes Hlinason, Radoncic, McLean, Jaime Fernández and now also the Belgian international, although the club and Justiz are working on signing a new agreement.
