The Scribble feature in iPadOS 14 now supports several new languages, including French.
Good news for iPad users who are used to using their Apple Pencil to surf on their tablet. They can now scribble in French since the eponymous function will soon take over the language of Molière. In addition to French, Apple Pencil features on iPadOS will also work with Italian, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
The iOS and iPadOS feature availability page indicates that French – as well as several new languages - is supported by the Scribble feature. Users will therefore be able to hand doodle notes or links in French with their Apple Pencil. Their scribble will then be analyzed, interpreted, then transformed into capital letters on the iPad.
The Scribble app has recently been supporting these languages, so it’s pretty normal that they are now supported outside of the app as well.
The Scribble function allows you to manually write text or draw in any text field in iPadOS with a stylus. To take advantage of this feature, you must first activate it from your Apple Pencil settings. From the settings of the latter, simply activate the option “Scribble”, then “Try Scribble” on the page that appears to help you get started.
