Pope Francis is recovering well from bowel surgery, according to the Vatican. He had a raise last night, but that turned out to be all right this morning. Also, no complications were found that could explain the febrile attack.
The 84-year-old pope was admitted to the Gemelli hospital in Rome on Sunday for a planned operation on his intestines. Half of his colon was removed due to a narrowing.
Because of the elevation, Francis’ chest and abdominal cavities were scanned this morning. No problems were found. Microbiological research also revealed nothing special.
According to a spokesperson, the Pope is again able to move without help and food is also possible without any problems. If everything stays like this, Francis can go home at the end of the week.
