Defender Erik Černák is the first Slovak hockey player to win the Stanley Cup in two consecutive seasons.

His team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, sealed his championship defense with a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth game of the NHL playoff final, winning his second World Cup in less than 10 months.
In the menoslov of Slovak winners, Černák won the second championship with Tomáš Kopecký, who triumphed in 2008 and 2010. He lost one first place to Marián Hoss, who rejoiced in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
