Cofepris releases two batches of AstraZeneca’s anticovid vaccine

Two lots of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine, which were packaged in Mexico, were released to be applied, reported the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris).

Through a statement, Cofepris indicated that the first batch contains 918 thousand 500 doses of the vaccine, while the second 833 thousand 300 doses.

“Both are intended for the National Vaccination Policy against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, for the prevention of covid-19 in Mexico, and are likely to be sent to other countries as part of an agreement with the manufacturer,” explained Cofepris .

Cofepris added that the authorization for emergency use was issued after conducting the necessary tests through the National Reference Laboratory of the Commission for Analytical Control and Expansion of Coverage, where 15 tests were carried out on the biologicals against COVID-19, such as sterility, identity and potency, among others.

On July 2, a batch of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccines was released with 914,200. On Thursday it is planned that One million doses of the Sinovac coronavirus vaccine arrive in Mexico.
