Dr figure Faheem Younus become a star among Indonesian netizens. How not, since the rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, this expert from the United States has been educating the public about COVID-19 by using the Indonesian language.
Monitoring detik.com, Dr Faheem Younus started tweeting in Indonesian on July 2, 2021, after previously conveying the COVID-19 situation which he said had increased quite dramatically.
Since then, this infectious disease specialist from the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health USA has often written jokes in Indonesian. Here are some of the highlights:
1. Treatment of COVID-19
Dr Faheem reminded Indonesians who are self-isolating at home not to take unnecessary medicines, including antibiotics, Ivermectin, and steroids.
He also said not to buy COVID-19 drugs without a doctor’s prescription, because this could have a fatal impact. This related information is also often shared by fellow Indonesian doctors in the timeline.
2. Bear milk
Some time ago, Indonesians were panic buying by buying Bear Milk, which made this product rare in the market and the price went up insanely.
As if knowing what was going on, Dr Faheem then tweeted that Bear’s Milk had no role in the treatment of COVID-19. This tweet then received thousands of comments from Indonesian netizens.
3. Disinfectant spray
Recently, Dr Faheem also said that the activity of spraying disinfectant on the roads carried out in Indonesia was meaningless. According to him, surface disinfection is not needed on roads and open spaces and is only useful if it is carried out in the rooms of COVID-19 patients or hospitals.
