Ubisoft has now confirmed information to Bloomberg that the company is working on a new Assassin’s Creed game and that several of their studios are working on it at the same time.
According to Bloomberg, the game, codenamed “Infinity”, will be a so-called “live service” game similar to, for example, Fortnite or GTA Online. In that case, this would be the biggest change ever to one of the gaming world’s biggest series since it was launched in 2007.
Where earlier Assassin’s Creed games were usually centered around a specific time period, such as ancient Greece, “Infinity” may instead contain several periods simultaneously. The game could also be expanded with new time periods later.
According to Bloomberg, “Infinity” is still several years from release.
