The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran intends to enrich uranium metal by up to 20 percent, in the latest sign Vienna talks about reviving the Iran nuclear deal, dubbed the joint comprehensive action plan (JCPOA) could stall.
The move brings Iran one step closer to developing materials that could be used to make nuclear weapons.
“We continue to urge Iran to stop this haste, to return to Vienna prepared for real talks, and to be in a position to complete the work that started in April,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price.

“It is worrying that Iran is choosing to continue to increase the non-performance of its JCPOA commitments, especially with experiments that have value for nuclear weapons research,” Price said.
