The IrschenBergFestival is back from the forced Corona break with a whistle: From July 13th, it will clear the ring in the well-ventilated circus tent for comedy, cabaret and lots of music – including a summer feeling.
Irschenberg – Comedy and cabaret, new folk music, virtuoso artists: the IrschenBergFestival is clearing the ring again this year after the compulsory break last year. Corona has moved the festival from May to July – from Tuesday, July 13th to Sunday, July 18th, the colorful festival will take place in the circus tent next to the Dinzler coffee roastery, including the summer feeling. There are well-known artists from the comedy duo Stermann & Grissemann to the guitar virtuosos from Café del Mundo and cabaret artist Django Asül.
The program is not messing around, but celebrating life after the long lockdown. Although the circus tent with its regular 1000 seats will only have room for 200 visitors this year, given the distance rules. Organizer Kathrin Weimar announced that the side walls will be left open so that the tent is well ventilated.
The funding program makes the festival possible
Weimar explains that the IrschenBergFestival can rise at all thanks to the “Neustart Kultur” funding program. It fills the financing gap that arises by the seating. Without the support, the festival would simply not be feasible with only one fifth of the regular space available.
Masks are required on the entire site and in the tent. There is no compulsory test. The hygiene concept should enable carefree cultural enjoyment – the summer festival feeling should not suffer as a result. Culinary delights are provided outside the tent. And in the tent, the artists provide a varied program.
Stermann & Grissemann, Kapelle So & So, Café del Mundo
The start is made by the duo Stermann & Grissemann, known from ORF. Your 2020 catch-up date is already sold out. There are still enough tickets for all other dates: On July 14th, the So & So band, together with musicians from LaBrassBanda, will bring a humorous brass mix from folk music to classical music to reggae into the tent. The Trio D’Bavaresi around the bananafishbones and three-quarter blood singer Sebastian Horn is similarly versatile, paying homage to Ringsgwandl, the Spider Murphy Gang and Willy Michl with very independent versions.
On July 16, the flamenco guitarists from Café del Mundo serve virtuoso sounds, before a gifted voice takes over on July 17: Andreas Kümmert, who became known for his unrivaled performance at The Voice. Cabaret artist Django Asül will conclude on July 18th with his current solo “Offenes Visier”.
All concerts start at 8 p.m. The tickets cost 25 euros, at Django Asül 28.50 euros.
