HEART‘s Ann Wilson will embark on a short solo tour in August. The trek will begin August 14 in Alexandria, Virginia, and will include dates in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and New Hampshire, before concluding with a two-night evening at the City Winery New York.
WilsonHer tour will also see her perform at a concert in Northwell Health at the Jones Beach Theater to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. All proceeds from the August 21 event will be donated to Foundation of the tunnel to the towers, which has provided mortgage-free housing to families of first responders for several years. Last April, Anne released another new single, “Black wing”. This is one of the many songs that HEART singer recorded last fall in Seattle with the help of local musicians, including HEART bass player Andy Stoller and keyboardist Dan Walker. In addition to “Black wing”, Wilson checked in “Soft heart” as well as blankets from Steve Earle‘s “The revolution begins now” and ALICE IN CHAIN‘ “Rooster”, all three of which have already been released as singles, plus another original, “The hammer”, which was released in February.
Earlier in the year, Anne said in an interview that there was no plan to HEART working on new music in the immediate future.
HEART toured North America in the summer of 2019 after a bad split that left Wilson sisters separated for three years.
Anne and Nancy had a falling out during HEART2016 tour, when Annethe husband of Dean Welter was arrested for assault Nancythe then 16-year-old twin sons in a backstage altercation at a concert near their hometown of Seattle. He pleaded guilty to two counts of less serious assault to avoid jail.
