On August 7, the legendary band “Eolika” will perform its concert tour dedicated to its 40th anniversary with an ambitious concert on the Saulkrasti stage. In honor of the anniversary concert tour and the legendary quartet, a new song “We are together again” has been composed and recorded (music by Boris Reznik, text by Valdis Pavlovskis). “In recent years, I rarely write new songs, but this time in honor of the fact that we are going on tour and we are all together, I wrote a song,” says composer and group founder Boriss Reznik, who also plans to take part in all the anniversary concert tours. These are my golden years, my most beautiful years, and in fact, “Aeolian” is half my life, not even numerically. It has been countless concerts and concert tours, and I am very happy and pleased that people still like this music and songs. ”
Singer Olga Rajecka emphasizes: “We are grateful to all the fans who have been with us for these 40 years. We are grateful that all four of us are still together and performing and that we have managed to delight you with our songs. And, of course, Boris Reznik, who will also take part in our anniversary concerts. ”
The band “Eolika”, a wind ensemble led by saxophonist Zints Žvarts and an instrumental group led by Jānis Miltiņš will take part in the anniversary concerts. In addition, as the anniversaries reveal, not only the most popular songs of the group will be played, but also many lesser-known compositions from the concert programs created during the group’s existence.
The popular quartet, which is still played by Olga Rajecka, Ilona Stepanova, Viktors Zemgals and Dainis Dobelnieks, was founded in the summer of 1980. During its existence, the quartet “Eolika” has given more than 4,000 concerts, and it can be safely called one of the symbols of Latvian pop music.
The group’s anniversary concerts will take place: August 7 at Saulkrasti Stage, August 13 at Cēsis Castle Park Stage, August 15 at Saldus Kalnsēta Park Stage, August 20 at Sigulda Castle Ruins Stage, August 25 at Dzintari Concert Hall, August 28 at Alūksne Stage, September 4 at Alūksne Stage open-air stage, September 11 at Roja open-air stage, October 2 at the concert hall “Lielais Dzintars”, October 16 at Jelgava Culture House, October 31 at Latgale Embassy “Gors”, November 13 at Ventspils Theater House “Jūras vārti”.
