Border guards began to deny entry to foreigners more often

The share of potential illegal migrants has significantly increased among those who have not been missed. In this category of persons, the first place was taken by the Russians.
In the first six months of 2021, Ukrainian border guards refused to cross the border for more than 19.3 thousand foreigners. About it informs State Border Service on Wednesday, 7 July.
“These indicators, compared to the first half of 2020, increased by an average of 1.6 times (in January-June 2020, border guards refused to pass 11.7 thousand people). The increase is mainly associated with quarantine restrictions and was applied to foreigners who arrived from countries with a significant spread of COVID-19 did not have the necessary documents to enter Ukraine during the pandemic, “the message says.
Among those who were not allowed, there are more citizens of Russia – 2,818 people – this figure has increased by 2.7 times compared to last year. Also, citizens of Moldova, Turkey, Poland, Romania, Belarus and Germany received more often denials of admission.
Most of the people who did not cross the border were recorded at the aviation checkpoints, as well as on the border with Russia, Moldova and Belarus.
Among those not missed, the share of potential illegal migrants has also increased significantly – from 2270 people in the first half of last year – to 4058 people this year. And in this category of persons, the first place was taken by the Russians – 1236 citizens.
The largest number of refusals to pass through the border by potential illegal migrants was recorded at aviation checkpoints – 62.1% of the total.
Earlier to Ukraine the actress from Russia was not allowed, which was heading to Odessa. She was supposed to perform at the theater. The Russian woman was not allowed into the country, as she illegally visited Crimea.
