The check-in queue is now quite common at Václav Havel Airport. But what used to be the habit is the documents that people have to submit. For example, tests. “Yesterday we were on the antigen test plus we will need a solemn declaration to France,” say one of the passengers to Paris. And they add that they eventually obtained the necessary document at the airport directly from the check-in worker.
However, the conditions vary from destination to destination – for example, when traveling to Greece, passengers must fill in an electronic form the day before departure. Otherwise, they will not let them on the plane at all.
“In my experience, every fifth sixth passenger is now unprepared for the trip and does not have the documents to be prepared,” says Petr Baránek, Czech Airlines Handling’s check-in supervisor. And precisely because of these, the airport management decided to extend the recommended two hours before departure to three hours – so that they could check the documents or correct any errors.
The Aliens Police will not check passengers on Schengen departures
On the contrary, the entry into the departure zone could accelerate slightly. Last week at Terminal 2, passengers went through passport control. It’s locked in there now. “Thus, the Aliens Police will no longer temporarily check passengers on departures within the Schengen area here at Terminal 2, however, passport control remains on arrival, where passengers must present all necessary documents,” explains Václav Pavl Airport spokeswoman Kateřina Pavlíková.
And as with departure, they vary by destination. According to the recommendations, people should find out the conditions well in advance so that they can spend waiting at the airport without unnecessary stress.
