On July 14, the premiere of the theater troupe “Kvadrifrons” will take place – secret pawns in Old Riga in the length of seven stops “Chronicle of Riga it is fast approaching among Latvians ”, the theater representatives informed.
“Riga Lerpata Chronicle” is an audio walking show, which is available to all interested people free of charge until August 30 of this year and which can be experienced at any time of the day. The show lasts about two and a half hours, but the duration of the walk depends on the visitor of the show. Enjoying the work does not require any technical support from the spectators.
According to the authors of the show, various legends and stories about the origin and potential destruction of Riga are closely intertwined in the newly created work. “Wandering the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town, spectators have the opportunity to engage in an exciting adventure that seems to take place right here, behind the doors of small Old Riga houses: the day has come when an old and terrible prediction will come true in Riga again, but only a few the danger of stopping and what can be done so that the Daugava does not swallow its shores and even tomorrow we wake up in our beautiful, bustling, chirping and sleeping city, following the clues and instructions given by the heroes we met during the performance,
spectators are invited to go for a walk in the old town to solve the mystery of Riga’s flywheel and save the city from destruction, “

The creators of the show explained that the center of the show is Old Riga, the visit of which is associated with enjoying a cultural and entertainment offer for a large part of the society, but in recent years it has become unfamiliar to Rigans – “it was first given to mass tourism. almost no local residents, but now, taking into account the restrictions caused by the protracted crisis, a large part of the gathering places in the Old Town are still closed and the city center of Riga is visited less and less “.
The starting point of the performance is Torņu Street 1, the main entrance of the exhibition hall “Arsenals” of the Latvian National Museum of Art. There, visitors will be greeted by an informative poster on how to start the show tour. Each of the seven stops included in the show is revealed in the previous paragraph during the show.
Actors Edmunds Freibergs, Reinis Boters, Matīss Budovskis, Anta Aizupe, Gatis Gāga, Kaspars Dumburs, Liena Šmukste, Anna Ulberte, Klāvs Mellis, Ance Strazda participate in the performance. The authors of the concept and drama are Ance Strazda and Klāvs Mellis, composer and sound artist – Kārlis Tone.
