Oppo Reno 6, Has Cinematic Bokeh Features a la Professional Camera Kamera

JawaPos.com – Taking place at SMPT or The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers in June 2011, Professor Marc Levoy from the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University gave an innovative technical lecture in which he shared his vision for the future of digital photography.

Instead of fighting over megapixels, Levoy claims, the next frontier of digital photography will be found in a concept called computational photography. Levoy’s prediction has now become a reality as the concept of computational photography led to the rapid growth of smartphone photography.

This started with Oppo introducing the Reno 6 device that carried the technology. Oppo Reno 6 itself will be marketed in Indonesia in the near future.

The phone is claimed to be the first mobile phone in the world that is equipped with computational photography technology or computational photography for video recording. Oppo Indonesia PR Manager Aryo Meidianto explained, computational photography allows smartphone manufacturers to break hardware limitations.

“By maximizing the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and computing processed by special processors such as ISPs (Image Signaling Processors), hardware limitations can be eliminated,” he said through an online press conference on Monday (5/7).

He claims that Oppo has successfully penetrated this limitation by producing computational results not only in photography but also in the realm of videography. The Reno 6 itself is said to be the first smartphone series to achieve cinematic bokeh using computational photography techniques.
