JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), an industrial area located in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, handed over 21 units of Iso oxygen tanks to the Government of Indonesia through the Indonesian Ministry of Health at Pier 3 Nusantara, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, Tuesday (6/7/ 2021).
The oxygen aid was received directly by the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin. The capacity of each tank is 25.8 tons per unit, shipped by sea since July 1, 2021 from Morowali, Central Sulawesi.
This assistance is intended to meet the oxygen supply of hospitals in need for the treatment of patients with Covid-19.
This assistance will immediately be distributed to referral hospitals for treating Covid-19 patients who are currently in need of oxygen supply.
The current government together with industry continue to strive to ensure the availability of oxygen for domestic medical needs.
CEO of PT. IMIP, Alexander Barus said that this oxygen aid is a form of concern and humanitarian solidarity for the Indonesian people who are currently still struggling in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We welcome the Government’s invitation to the industrial community to be responsive to the fulfillment of such a large need for oxygen and hope that this assistance can help in the recovery of patients in the future,” said Alexander.
