The unusual facts occurred this Sunday in Décines-Charpieu near Lyon.
It was 10:45 a.m. when a fight of unknown origin broke out on rue Tamaris. Obviously very recovered, one of the protagonists armed himself with a sharp sword to strike his opponent in the head.
The victim then had the reflex to protect his face with his hand. However, the knife struck one of his fingers while cutting off three quarters of the latter.
The assailant managed to escape before the arrival of the emergency police, who had been informed a little earlier. But knowing that he was wanted, the suspect went to the police station on his own. The investigation was entrusted to the Rhône criminal brigade after a complaint for attempted homicide was filed.
When questioned, the individual admitted to having hit his victim on the head with the flat of his sword, but denied having cut his finger. Note that investigators found the knife in the suspect’s car.
He will be presented to court on Tuesday.
