Summer, with the holidays or a different rhythm from the rest of the year, is an opportunity to refocus on yourself, to find family and friends, to take care of yourself and for some to consider the resuming physical activity, alone or in a group.
Before you (re) start moving, check that your health allows it. If you have been inactive for a while, it is recommended to have a medical examination before resuming physical activity. This tour is highly recommended for men over 35 and women over 45. In addition, the majority of clubs and associations require a medical certificate before any registration. If you are returning to or starting sport, it is advisable to do so gradually.
- Evaluate your level, thanks to the physical activity test offered on mangerbouger.fr
- For example, start with a program of 10 minutes of brisk walking per day, with regular progress to reach 30 minutes per day or more in 4 to 6 weeks.
- Then work on strengthening the muscles of your legs, arms, back and abdominals with 1 to 2 sessions per week or by practicing your favorite sport. Some examples of exercises.
- Finally, consider higher intensity exercise sessions.
To get more physical activity, it’s important to set a goal. On the days when you don’t have the courage to take the plunge, this goal will remind you why you decided to move more and give you the motivation you need.
To help you, you can set up a weekly or monthly schedule. For example, your overall goal might be: ” in 2 months, I will walk 30 minutes a day “. To get there, you can go through several stages: ” the first week, I walk 10 min per day, at least 4 days, the next I go to 15 min, and in the third I stay at 15 min but I do it every day … »
Congratulate yourself! Achieving this goal should be a reward in itself, and therefore be rewarding for you.
After the effort… Stay tuned to your body!
