The Algarve circuit, which hosted the Grand Prix of Portugal on April 18, in the third stage of the speed motorcycling world championship, will host the 18th race of the year, a week before the race in Valencia, which closes the competition.
In a statement, Dorna, promoter of the competition, also announced the anticipation of the Malaysian Grand Prix by one week, to 24 October.
This will be the third time that the ‘queen’ category of speed motorcycling passes through the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, after its debut in 2020, with the victory of Miguel Oliveira (KTM).
The Portuguese is in seventh place in the drivers’ standings, with 85 points, 71 less than French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), who leads the world championship after nine races.
